At NiViM, we add the following to the above quote :
"Sustainable human development is only possible with sustainable nature conservation and development of principles to save this planet from future environmental catastrophes. For this, education is paramount without which everything is useless".
In these efforts, we have undertaken the following initiatives in the field of environmental and science education :
Education:
It is a unit under NiViM working as a School of Concepts to inculcate informal education of nature conservation, personal hygiene with the popularization of scientific approach among students of all cadre through lectures, pictures and other exposure methods. NiViM has many facilities of the hall, small wild species biodiversity indicating garden, Library and training workshop at Besa, Nagpur to educate the students coming from various school.
Netravan:
It is a Nature Education, Training and Research in Agriculture adventures for Voluntary Action & Network (NETRAVAN) situated on the fringe of the metro region and in the outskirt of Muniya Reserve Forest (MRF) in Umrer range of Nagpur Forest Division. We have started work to develop a campsite to give real exposure to the urban and rural community for securing their livelihood through sustainable agricultural practices and rural entrepreneurship with allied activities like dairy, poultry, honey bee management and natural farming practices for healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

​Audio-Visual actions:
To understand a subject with interest and have its real impact on practicality, audio-visual aid proves to one of the most effective ways of education. At NiVim, we conduct slide shows, exhibitions, film shows and street plays for students, youths, farmers, tribal and women on the regular basis to help generate sustainable solutions to the problems in the social development sector.
Nature Camp:
It is an activity which includes actual involvement of students, farmers and nature lovers with all components of nature. These camps are primarily held during summers and winters to be in sync with academic vacations. These camps are organised by NiViM at the National Parks, Sanctuaries, Tiger Reserves and rural areas with immense biodiversity potential. Regular sessions of Nature Excursion and Education through Demonstration (NEED) are conducted at NETRAVAN campus.
Research & Study:
The main purpose of this is to find out the root problems in the socio-environmental sector and doing the research to find out the sustainable solutions to eliminate those problems. The study is conducted with the Graduate and Post-graduate students of Environmental, Social, Biological science streams, faculties of various universities. We have many MoUs signed with degree colleges and veterinary universities and college for the involvement of students in basic research at grass root level.
